Dr. Mohammad Rafiq Khan, MD, MPH, is a board-certified psychiatrist with broad expertise in adult, child, geriatric, forensic, and addiction psychiatry. He completed his medical training at Ayub Medical College and his psychiatry residency and MPH at New York Medical College.
Dr. Khan has held key clinical, academic, and leadership roles across Connecticut, including serving as Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Director of Addiction Services. He currently consults for the Connecticut Department of Correction and serves as Vice President of Fundraising for PAACT, where he supports community mental health initiatives.
Mohammad Rafiq Khan, MD, MPH is a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience in clinical care, academic medicine, and community leadership. He earned his medical degree from Ayub Medical College and completed his residency training in psychiatry, along with a Master of Public Health (MPH), at New York Medical College.
Dr. Khan has practiced across multiple areas of psychiatry, including forensic psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, general adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and addiction medicine. His clinical experience includes positions at in Bridgeport and Westchester Medical Center, where he provided comprehensive psychiatric care to diverse patient populations.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Khan has been deeply involved in academic and professional leadership. He served as an Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Bridgeport and was President of the medical staff at Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in Bridgeport for several years, demonstrating his commitment to advancing mental health services at both institutional and community levels. He also served as Director of Addiction Services in Norwalk, Connecticut, where he played a key role in overseeing treatment programs and expanding access to care. Currently, he serves as a consultant for the Connecticut Department of Correction.
A long-standing member of the Greater Connecticut community and an active supporter of PAACT, Dr. Khan currently serves as Vice President of Fundraising for PAACT, where he is dedicated to strengthening community engagement and expanding access to critical mental health resources. He is also actively involved in numerous charitable organizations and community service initiatives, regularly supporting fundraising events and community development.
